SharePoint - NMCI

ANSOL, Inc. has utilized existing technologies for its rich client side Apps that can leverage SharePoint services and provide integrated planning and analytic tools. We have proven that low cost user-friendly solutions can be quickly implemented to create a dynamic work environment for a variety of excel based processes. Once integrated with an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system such as SharePoint, our affordable repeatable solutions can facilitate collaboration between organizations with automated services.

SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013 bring new capacities, version management and document sharing capabilities. SharePoint’s out-of-the-box capabilities provide an essential set of ECM services. SharePoint can track different versions and manage historical changes to electronic documents. It can be used as digital record management systems that meet government and industry compliance standards. As a common storage location for collaboration, it can significantly reduce excessive file copies, emails, and duplicated work within an organization.

NMCI/DISA SharePoint already integrate DoD’s identity management and PKI.  Although, NMCI and DISA place restrictions on SharePoint development to ensure enterprise security, standardization, and minimal operation costs. These are multi-tenant servers and with server side code restrictions; most out-of-the-box SharePoint features are preapproved for NMCI Servers. This ensures protection and integrity of data in accordance with DOD-wide policies and procedures.

In addition, client-side solutions can be developed to provide rich and robust user experiences. SharePoint is a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) and provides web services to its managed content. These client side Apps are easily customizable, easy to implement, and provides a robust user interface without having to affect the overall enterprise architecture.

Other benefits of client-side Apps extending existing ECM (SharePoint) services:

  •  Data Documents can review and managed in a browser without needing to create or distribute local copies.
  •  Synched copies of needed data document can be used offline on various devices
  •  Multiple editors can work on the simultaneously
  •  Support for  scenario (what-if) branching, reconciliation, and cherry picking specific changes
